Sketch, sketch, sketch!

Where to begin! Being a new mom, I've found I'm stuck with an enormous amount of pent up creative energy and desperately trying to find ways to release it. This blog is my attempt at not only letting go of some of that energy, but also a way to force myself to create every day; to keep up with the art scene and try new things.

Art begets art. One of the best things I learned in school (Sheridan) was to always keep a sketchbook with you. Keeping a visual journal, so to speak, inspires new thoughts and creative ideas. You find yourself trying things you'd never thought about, and wouldn't have thought about unless you'd kept that visual journal close at your side.

So, my very first creative entry is one from my sketchbook! I was downstairs with 'the baby child' (as we tend to call him), and he was being relatively calm, so I thought I'd try to quickly sketch him. Here is what I came up with.
